At Huck It, our skills courses are for every level of ride, whether you’re just starting out, finding your flow, chasing airtime or racing. Our course pathway is designed to build skills logically and progressively, helping you layer confidence and capability one piece at a time.

Each session focuses on clear, achievable progression with expert guidance from our experienced coaches. We keep group sizes small, so you get the attention you need in a supportive, women-only learning environment, giving you room to grow your skills, push your boundaries and feel at home on your bike.

Wherever you’re starting from, our Skills Courses give you the foundation to ride stronger, smoother and with confidence on any trail.

Foundation

Intro to MTB

Are you starting to find your flow and are excited to learn more skills to allow you to progress and try the challenges of new features. But want to ensure you do so with the right habits and skills?

Our course looks to do just that. With a high focus on body position, braking and a few key tricks to keep you safe, it is the foundation to all the skills and techniques to come.

Cost: $60 per person.

Prerequisite courses: None

Course description

This course is designed to be a mix of drills and on trail learning that develops key foundation skills and habits to empower women to start tackling more trails safely.

Starting with exploring the components of correct body position, we use drills and feedback to tweak your position to be centred and strong. We then explore key bike body separation drills allowing you to start to understand how to take control of your bike and work with it to conquer new trails. Finally, to ensure we stay safe with our new skills and speed we dive into braking and how we can use this to control our rides and build confidence to explore in control.

This course is aimed at confident Green trail riders. Recommend for riders with 6 months or more experience or having never done coaching before. Held on a green trails and led by one of Huck Its experienced Coaches it focuses on building strong foundations and good habits with the goal to build confidence safely.

MTB Fundamentals

This course is a key component of Huck It’s course structure. Acting as a requirement for all our higher level courses to ensure you have the right tools in your tool box to start exploring corners, technical riding and air time.  

The MTB Fundamentals is designed to push riders to the next level. Building skills and control on the bike, setting you up to tackle old trails or new features with more speed and power than before. 

Cost: $100 per person.

Course description

This course is an on trail session designed to connect you with your bike and give you the power to move with it through new terrain. Starting by cementing in the requirements of body position and empowering riders to maintain this on trail.

We then look to explore the 2 ways we can separate ourselves from the bike and use this to give us balance and control as we move into new features. Adding in the fundamentals of cornering, riders build technique to increase traction and confidence.

As we find new confidence we look at how braking and dismount can keep us safe in new environments. Finishing with riders being able to apply skills trail riding and gain instant feedback.

This course is aimed at confident Green trail riders or those new to coaching. Recommend for riders achieving top to bottoms on green trails or those looking to join the higher level courses. Held on a green trails and led by one of Huck Its experienced Coaches it focuses on cementing the key skills needed to progress your riding to the next level.

Intermediate Trail Skills

Ready to hit the Intermediate trails and start adding in the dynamic challenges of rock, root and corner features?   

Our Intermediate Trail Skills course is aimed at intermediate riders wanting to push themselves to more advanced terrain. With a focus on bike body separation and staying centred, we will explore terrain awareness, new ways to tackle tricky terrain (up and down) and rolls with maximum traction and control. Allowing you to get the most out of each trail.

Cost: $100 per person

Course description

This course looks to build on the fundamentals using a range of drills and on trail experience, to set riders up with the skills to conquer intermediate trails and features.


Starting by building on the key skill of terrain awareness, developing our body position to give us power uphill and then practicing specific drills and skills that transfer to the new terrain blue trails throw at us.

We take it to the trails exploring how we apply these new skills on features and start to discuss the importance of a full tool box, which allows us to draw on a range of skills to attack features.

This course is aimed at confident Green/Blue trail riders. Recommend for riders with 12 months or more experience. Held on a blue trail and led by one of Huck Its experienced Coaches it focuses on developing the skills required to hit blue trails safely and sets up riders for the skills specific courses.

Level Up

Cornering

From fast flowy berms to tricky flat off camber – cruise all the types of corners the trails throw at you. 

The Cornering Course is built to develop confidence and traction in the vast range of turns our trails have to offer. We explore the next steps in corner skill development. Building on the learnings of MTB Fundamentals, this course levels up intermediate riders to hit corners with more control and grip. 

Cost: $100 per person.

Course description

Combining both park drills and on trail learning this course is designed to further develop your cornering techniques.

In this course we build on the fundamentals of body position and angulation in corners, diving deeper into how each can improve our traction and control. We then start to explore how we can further separate ourselves and start to move independently from the bike to progress our flow and line through the corners.

As we find new confidence and speed we look at how we can apply these techniques and skills to the different types of corners we find throughout the WA trails. Having the opportunity to then session and apply these skills to the trail, while gaining instant feedback.

This course is aimed at confident Green and intermediate trail riders. Recommend for riders achieving top to bottoms on green or blue trails. Held on green and blue trails and led by one of Huck Its experienced Coaches it focuses on developing the key skills needed to progress your cornering to the next level.

Technican Terrain

OurTechnical Terrain course is designed to help you find flow through rocky terrain. Conquering technical challenges builds the foundations for handling natural terrain with confidence and ease. Setting Intermediate riders up with the skills and knowledge of how to tackle obstacles both up hill and down to keep them moving.

Course description

This course looks to build on the fundamentals using a range of drills and on trail experience, to set riders up with the skills to conquer technical terrain.

Starting by building on the key skills taught in the fundamentals course, we then practice specific technical drills and skills that transfer to blue technical terrain in both uphill and downhill environments.

We then take it to the trails – exploring how we apply these new skills on features and start to discuss the importance of a full tool box, which allows us to draw on a range of skills to attack features.

Utilising a small group size and greater trail time, riders are given the opportunity to develop and practice with more feedback opportunities.

This course is aimed at confident Blue trail riders. Recommend for riders with 12 months or more experience. Held on a blue trail and led by one of Huck Its experienced Coaches, it focuses on developing the skills required to hit blue trail rock gardens safely and sets up riders for the high level courses in the series.

Pump and Jump

Add playfulness and pop to the trails. See new lines, add air, and bring power into every ride. 

Our Pump and Jump helps you unlock a fresh lens on the trails you know—injecting energy, airtime, and style into familiar terrain.

Pump and Jump lays the foundation for boosting confidence and control as you add lift, movement, and timing to your ride. Perfect for intermediate riders, this course sets you up to build into more advanced jump and drop skills.

If you’re ready to start adding hucks, find flow, and ride with a new sense of play, this is where it begins.

Course description

This pumptrack session is designed to help intermediate riders bring their riding to life—with more energy, confidence, and control.

We start by exploring how to pump through the trail—adding movement and momentum by timing pressure and release. You’ll learn how to read the terrain and decide when (and how much) to pump to create speed and flow. From there, we move into wheel lifts and timing small pops, building the sensation of leaving the ground with purpose and control.

As you grow more confident, we bring it all together – linking movements with terrain and building playful, powerful riding. We finish the session with braking and speed control drills, ensuring you’re staying safe and in control while exploring new ways to ride.

This course builds the groundwork for safe and effective jumps and drops, giving you the tools to explore air with confidence in the next phase of the Pump and Jump series.

This course is aimed at intermediate riders looking to build pop, power, and control before moving on to more advanced air-time skills.

Add confidence, control, and a whole new level of capability to your ride. Start understanding and owning the art of the drop.

Welcome to Dropping – Like It’s Hot is designed to break down the fear and uncertainty that often surrounds drops, transforming nerves into knowledge, and hesitation into flow.

Whether you’re rolling small ledges or eyeing bigger features, this course gives you the skills and mental tools to approach drops safely and progressively. You’ll learn how to assess terrain, adapt your body position, and fine-tune your timing and technique to match different drop styles.

Cost: $120 per person

Course description

This 3-hour session is aimed at intermediate riders who have completed Pump and Jump and are ready to level up. Building on your foundational skills, we explore the step-by-step process of riding drops with control and intention.

We begin by unpacking the question: What is a drop, and how do you ride it well? From there, we introduce progression-based features, helping you build trust in your technique and make calculated decisions. You’ll play with different approaches and variables, learning how to adapt your riding for flat landings, transitions, speed and height.

This is more than just a physical skill session. We also focus on mindset, giving you strategies to overcome fear, ride with awareness and make smart, safe choices on the trail.

You’ll leave with a sharper eye, stronger toolkit and a whole new way to ride the trails you love.

This course is perfect for intermediate riders looking to bridge the gap between playful pops and committed drops, adding another layer of progression to your riding journey.

Welcome to Jumps - Finding Airtime

Your first step into getting air and doing it with commitment, confidence and intention.

This course is designed to introduce jumping in a way that feels safe, supportive and progressive. We strip back the pressure, slow things down and build the foundations that allow you to leave the ground with purpose (not hope). You’l.

Course description

This 3-hour session builds directly on the skills learned in Pump and Jump, focusing on the physical and mental tools needed to start jumping with confidence.

We start by reinforcing key fundamentals (body position, timing, and movement) then layer in the skills required to generate air and manage it safely. Rather than being told to “just hit it,” you’ll learn the how and why behind jumping, building trust in your technique and mindset before progressing.

As confidence grows, we explore when and how much to give, developing the awareness and control that turns airtime into something repeatable and fun, not intimidating.

This course is all about forming good habits early, setting you up for purposeful progression as you continue your jumping journey.

Huck it Sessions

The Huck it session series looks to build on key bike control skills over a 3 or 5 week block.

Each week focuses on a skill set that will connect you to your bike and improve bike handling skills.

We are currently offering a mini Huck it Session Series.

Course description

The Huck it session series mini looks to build on key bike control skills over a 3 week block.  Each week focuses on a skill set that will connect you to your bike and improve bike handling skills. 

Join us for all or just a few and get ready to get silly in a park near you.

Date: Mondays (2nd, 9th and 16th Feb)
Time: 6:00pm – 7:30pm
Cost: $50 per person per session
Location: Bardon Park, Maylands

Session 1 – Pop it like its Hot

Here we build confidence and control while getting off the ground. Focusing on wheel lifts and timing we will have you popping and hopping across the park in no time. 

Session 2 – Wheelie sick + the Art of Dismount

Wanna chuck a wheelie? Cruise past the kids in the carpark and show them what’s up? Join this session to learn the steps to a front wheel lift and some key safety skills with balance control.

There can be more to exiting the bike than you think, come drop, roll, launch off the bike to save yourself in times of tree encounters.

Session 3 – Skinnies and more 

This session we focus on skills that can help you get out of a sticky situation. Repositioning the front or rear tire or hopping slightly to the right can be riding changing on tight trails. Come along to start your journey to do what Danny does.

Led by one of our experienced coaches, private sessions are available one-on-one or for small groups of up to 6 riders. We shape the session around your skill level, learning style, and progression path, creating a supportive and focused space for real growth.

WAGE - Shadowing and trail sessioning

Ready to level up your race game? Our WAGE Private Coaching is designed specifically for female riders chasing performance at the state and national level. With over two years of race-specific coaching experience, our qualified coaches look beyond just skills—focusing on the full athlete picture.

These pre-race sessions cover everything from line choice and mental prep to managing your energy and mindset across the day, helping you show up confident, focused, and ready to ride your best when it counts.

Available at select races during Friday practice or pre-race days.
